From the moment she first held a violin at four years old, Sarah knew that she wanted to become a violinist. Today Sarah has become an accomplished classical violinist with over 15 years of musical experience and training. Having studied extensively under the Juilliard-trained teachers at the Conservatory of Annie Moses in Nashville, Sarah has become skilled in violin, mandolin, arranging, and composing. She has also been privileged to study with Masao Kawasaki of the Juilliard School and the Cincinnati Conservatory, and Brian Lewis of the UT-Austin Butler School of Music. Sarah has also trained in folk and bluegrass with teachers from both Belmont University and the Blair School at Vanderbilt.
Sarah has performed on the renowned stages of the Grand Ole Opry House and Carnegie Hall. She has also played through the Annie Moses Summer Music Festival at the Bluegrass Underground, the Cannery Ballroom, and the Country Music Hall of Fame. She was an orchestra member in the Annie Moses Band’s PBS show The Art of the Love Song which aired on television nationwide in 2016.
Sarah has recorded with the Nashville Praise Symphony on their 2015 and 2018 projects. She has also recorded solo projects for the Great Smoky Mountain Association and the Notgrass Company. In 2016, she recorded her first EP, A Simple Gift, with tunes rooted in Appalachian music. 2019 brought the opportunity for a classical single of the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto in E Minor Op. 64 I. Allegro molto Appassionato.
In 2017, Sarah and her sister Olivia helped start the Felicity Band, focusing on excellent musicianship & diverse styles while glorifying the Lord through performing. As well as playing violin & mandolin, she arranges and writes music for the band.
Along with performing, Sarah maintains a thriving teaching studio in Cookeville, Tennessee, at Peachtree Learning Center. She is certified in the Suzuki Violin Method through level Two, and is also trained in the Annie Moses Method. She is on faculty at the Conservatory of Annie Moses.
She also works with the Finale music notation software as an independent engraver.
With each performance, Sarah strives to share the love of God with her audience through excellence in music, and is a part of the movement of redeeming the arts for the glory of God. Sarah hopes to spark this passion within each of her students, that they may also glorify God with their talents. Sarah is deeply thankful for the Lord’s provision and the support of her family in this endeavor.
